Armada Stumble, Lose to Mafia

The New York Mafia defeated the Quebec Armada, 13-3, at Don Corleone Park. New York designated hitter Doug White was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. New York, at 43-42, sits in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
Veteran shortstop Jorge Mora came through in a pinch for the Mafia. In the bottom of the third, the 40-year-old Mora hit a 2-run single on a 0-1 fastball from Juan Pérez. It enabled the Mafia to take the lead. For the game, Mora was 1 for 5. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Mora.
