The Omaha Titans knocked off the Havana Stogies, 8-6, at Titans Park. Pedro Valéncia, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Omaha won. The second baseman was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Bill Daniels got credit for the save for Omaha. It was his 12th of the year. Even with the win, the Titans have a dismal 26-53 record.

Omaha took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, right fielder Frank Coleman hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Coleman told a Omaha Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
