The Jersey Jesters defeated the Maple Marauders, 6-4, at Legends Park. Jersey shortstop Wen Chien was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Apupa Yavar earned the win for Jersey. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 7-7. The first-place Jesters have won 4 in a row.
Flexing his muscles for Jersey was Ron Verity. The third baseman had a 2-run home run in the top of the third for the Jesters. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Verity was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Jersey manager Allen Clifton.
