Host Earthquakes Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
The Maple Marauders moved to within one game of the League Pennant today, downing the San Francisco Earthquakes on the road at Golden Gate Park by a score of 6-1. Marauders second baseman Gerard Leeder was named player of the game after he went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Marauders a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Championship.
In the top of the first, Leeder had one of his most important at-bats: a 3-run home run off Carlos Estrada that staked the Marauders to a 3-0 lead.
"This team is on a mission," said Leeder, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
Game 6 is scheduled for Monday, October 23rd, 2028 at Legends Park. Slated to start are Carlos Estrada for the Earthquakes and Landy Lu for the Marauders.
