Hornets Hammered by Soucy, Fall Further Behind in League Pennant
|
With designated hitter George Soucy leading the charge, the Maple Marauders defeated the visiting Eureka Hornets, 5-3, in Game 2 of the League Pennant today. Soucy was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once at Legends Park to help Maple take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Soucy came through for Maple with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first. He hit a 2-1 curveball to left field, staking his team to a 4-0 lead.
"We're not going to sweep 'em," Soucy said in response to a question after the game. "Eureka is too good not to take a game somewhere."
The next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th, 2028 at The Nest. The scheduled starters for the game are Landy Lu for the Marauders and Mitsunari Kobayashi for the Hornets.
