When the games really matter, the Rock River Rats put on their best show, beating the Riverside Red Bulls by a final score of 4-3 today. Pat McConnell earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Rock River now leads Riverside 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.
The most important at-bat for Rock River came in the top of the 13th inning. With one out, Myung-bak Chong reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Rock River up, 4-3.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said Chong.
Game 2 is set to be played on Wednesday, October 11th, 2028 at Red Bull Stadium. Slated to start are Josuke Fujihara for the Rats and Jay Till for the Red Bulls.
