Flash Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 2-0
Despite a great performance by Billings center fielder Yoichibei Taniguchi, the Fairfield Flash defeated the Mustangs by the score of 9-4 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park today. Taniguchi went 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Flash from moving one game closer to the Round 3. Fairfield now leads the Triple A World Series 2-0.

Fairfield took the lead with two out in the bottom of the first when Jorge Ramírez stroked a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Fairfield. For the day, Ramírez went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Ramírez said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played on Friday, October 13th, 2028 at Cobb Field. Slated to start are Kichibei Ozawa for the Flash and Ashley Heath for the Mustangs.
