The stakes were high. Tanner Johnson was ready.

The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at House of the Republic today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the So Cal Republic to victory in Game 1 of the Divisional Championship. Johnson held the Duke City Danger to 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6. The win got the best-of-7 series off to a good start for So Cal, which now leads 1-0.

Johnson pitched a complete game for So Cal. The left-hander was charged with no runs on 5 hits. He struck out 6 during his 108-pitch performance.

"I expect to pitch a complete game shutout every time," said Johnson.

Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th, 2028 at House of the Republic. Slated to start are Elvis Callahan for the Danger and Tanner Johnson for the Republic.
