Medrano Handcuffs Bombers, Earthquakes Seize 2-0 Advantage in Divisional Round
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 4-2 in Game 2 of the Divisional Round today. Earning player of the game honors was starter António Medrano, who threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs. The win moves San Francisco into a 2-0 lead in the series.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Earthquakes grabbed the lead on a two-out single by Juan López. San Francisco at the time was trailing 2-1, but López's 2-run single off Ruberto Laranjeira put his team in front.
"It's a gut punch" Bombers manager Randy Huggett said. "Getting here and finding ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th, 2028 at Bomber Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are António Medrano for San Francisco and Oliver Romero for South Carolina.
