Portland Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in Divisional Round
|
The Portland Beavers got a strong performance from pitcher Fernando López, who stymied the visiting Georgia Grays en route to a 6-0 win in Game 3 of the Divisional Round today. The Grays could never get a bead on the left-handed López, who threw 6 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Beavers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.
The fans who came in support of the Beavers were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Waterfront Park.
"It's always fun to see the other guys getting frustrated, but the series isn't over and we've got to make sure to keep them on their heels," Portland manager Ryan Blandford said.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11th, 2028 at Waterfront Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Orlando Días for the Grays and Daryl Harrison for the Beavers.
