Beavers Get Past Grays 3-0 to Open Divisional Round
|
The Divisional Round got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling Portland Beavers taking a low-scoring 3-0 win over the host Georgia Grays. Portland right-hander Iván Morales was marvelous at The Death Star and was named player of the game. The Beavers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Making an impact for Portland was third baseman Anuvaha Tasha. He drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the third. For the game, Tasha was 2-4 with a double.
"The rain was definitely not preferable," Tasha said. "It worked out fine I guess, but we'll be happy if we see the sun next time."
Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, October 8th, 2028 at The Death Star. The scheduled starters for the game are Kent Williams for the Beavers and Paul Wise for the Grays.
