Already down, the Eugene Emeralds put on their best show, beating the Chippewa River Chiefs by a final score of 5-4 today. Masayuki Kimura earned player of the game honors, as he went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Eugene now trails Chippewa 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Roman Bakhtiyarov had the critical at-bat for Eugene. With one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Eugene the 5-4 walk-off win.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Kimura said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2028 at Prefontaine Park. Slated to start are Tony López for Chippewa and Yasukazu Kouda for Eugene.
