Codebreakers Hammered by Sai, Drop Game 3 to Black Knights
|
Riding the 1-hit performance of left fielder Masayoshi Sai, the Brooklyn Black Knights got a road win against the Columbus Codebreakers, 9-7, in Game 3 of the Divisional Round today. Sai went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Black Knights, who now lead the best-of-7 series 2-1.
Sai had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he hit a first pitch fastball from Pat Ashe for a grand slam home run. Just like that, the Black Knights took the lead, 9-7.
"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but 2-1 is a hell of a lot better than 1-2," Sai said.
Game 4 is set to be played on Wednesday, October 11th, 2028 at Central Park Downtown Stadium. Slated to start are Rob Young for the Black Knights and Greg Finley for the Codebreakers.
