Knights Win to Extend Series Lead to 4-0
|
The Sioux City Knights moved to within one game of the Single A World Series today, downing the visiting Westside Road Warriors at Knights Field by a score of 6-5. Knights right-hander Charlie Bennett was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Knights a 4-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Single A League Championship.
Sioux City third baseman Chua chay Ang gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Knights leading 5-0, Ang hit a sacrifice fly.
"Everyone was so fired up that a rain delay was the last thing we wanted," Bennett said. "Thankfully, it turned out OK."
