Win Extends Knights Lead to 2-0 Over Road Warriors
|
Despite a great performance by Westside starter Jay Retter, the Sioux City Knights defeated the Road Warriors by the score of 5-4 at Road Warriors Field today. Retter threw 5 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Knights from moving one game closer to the Single A World Series. Sioux City now leads the Single A League Championship 2-0.
Sioux City took the lead with two out in the top of the sixth when Orlando Morales stroked a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Sioux City. For the day, Morales went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We're one game closer to our goal," Sioux City manager Leland Ray said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd, 2028 at Knights Field. Slated to start are Daryl Walder for Westside and Pedre Pedrogo for Sioux City.
