Rats Hammered by Collins, Drop Game 5 to Storm Troopers
|
Already down, the San Antonio Storm Troopers put on their best show, beating the Rock River Rats by a final score of 11-0 today. Floyd Collins earned player of the game honors, as he went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. San Antonio now trails Rock River 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
Collins had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the first, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Storm Troopers went on to win.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Collins said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 6th, 2028 at The Rat Hole. Slated to start are António Encarnación for the Storm Troopers and Kichibei Endo for the Rats.
