Riverside Wins at Home to Take 4-3 Lead in Double A League Championship
|
The Riverside Red Bulls moved to within one game of the Double A World Series today, downing the visiting Pacifica Shamrocks at Red Bull Stadium by a score of 7-4. Red Bulls left fielder Ken Paul was named player of the game after he was 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The win gives the Red Bulls a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.
Dermot Currall contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped send Riverside to the win.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Paul said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
