Shamrocks, Red Bulls Play 10 to Settle Game 3, Pacifica Now Leads Series 2-1
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks got a strong game from starter Iván Rea, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Shamrocks took the 4-3 win over the Riverside Red Bulls in Game 3 of the Double A League Championship in a 10th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Rea, who was named player of the game. Rea threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Shamrocks a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Si-dao Chi went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Pacifica. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the tenth, Chi came through with a run-scoring single. It put the Shamrocks in front, 4-3.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Shamrocks manager Joe Leftwich said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
Game 4 is set to be played on Wednesday, October 4th, 2028 at McCormick Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Jay Till for Riverside and Subaru Suzuki for Pacifica.
