Loss Extends Omaha Losing Streak
|
Brooklyn beat Omaha, 6-5. The win in part was due to right fielder David O'Farrell, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Rod Larcombe picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 5 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 6-4. Tokaji Goto got the save, his 17th in 19 chances.
One important at-bat for Brooklyn came with one out in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, O'Farrell hit a 2-run double, which contributed to the Black Knights win.
"The vibe's good," said Brooklyn manager Diego Aguirre. "We've got to keep it going."
Omaha has now lost 9 consecutive games.
