Jesters Best Earthquakes in Pitching Duel

Jersey left-hander Alejandro García was in fine form, shutting out the San Francisco Earthquakes, 2-0. García, the winner, moves to 9-2. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The first-place Jesters raised their record to 45-33.
Tied up with the Earthquakes in the bottom of the fifth, the Jesters got a boost from catcher Martín Hernández. With the bases empty, Hernández saw a full count fastball from Yoshiaga Rin and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Jersey on top, 1-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Jersey Jesters manager Allen Clifton.
