Knights Fall to Saints, 9-2
|
The St. Paul Saints bested the Kingwood Knights by a score of 9-2, with catcher Walt Stokes getting the main credit. On the day, Stokes was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Saints. St. Paul reliever Shunsho Tanabe was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Sawao Daikawa. Mickael Raymond earned the save, his 2nd.
St. Paul grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Stokes, who is tied for 10th in the BOL in triples with 4, hit a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Saints out in front, 3-1.
Kingwood manager Johan Gillberry said his team was "out of sync."
St. Paul now sits in 4th place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division at 82-79.
