The Chippewa River Chiefs got a good effort from starter Felipe Arreola in defeating the San Angelo Mustangs at The Reservation. The final score was 3-2. Chippewa goes to 100-60. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.

Chippewa won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and José Santos on the mound for San Angelo, catcher Doug Turner hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing River Chiefs fans to their feet.

In postgame comments to the Chippewa Daily News, Arreola said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
