Mustangs Take Close Win Over Vikings
The Victoria Vikings were defeated, 9-7, by the San Angelo Mustangs. Leading the charge for San Angelo was shortstop Hiroya Kuroki. He went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. José Santos earned his 5th save in 10 tries. San Angelo is now 87-71, while Victoria is 78-80.

In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Kuroki's contribution. The San Angelo shortstop is a relative newcomer. With two out in the bottom of the eighth, when the Mustangs had runners on 1st and 2nd, Kuroki delivered a crucial 2-run double.

"We got the victory," said Kuroki. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
