In a close game at Prefontaine Park, the Boise Bloodhounds edged the Eugene Emeralds, 5-4. Boise center fielder John Osborne earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Salvador Colón picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Yasukazu Kouda was tagged with the loss. Robinson Merrado got the save, his 23rd in 29 chances.
Osborne's nice game included a clutch grand slam home run in the top of the first.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Osborne, "but we really needed that win."
Boise is in 6th place in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division with a record of 70-87.
