Chippewa laid the wood on Boise at Grand Canyon Valley Park.

The Chippewa River Chiefs handed the Boise Bloodhounds a sound defeat, 32-3, at Grand Canyon Valley Park. Wang Tong was a main contributor to the win. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 5 runs and drove in 5 for Chippewa. The losses continue to mount for Boise, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the eighth inning when the River Chiefs sent teenager Mario Torres to the plate against Bloodhounds hurler Salvador Colón. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-1 fastball to score 3.

"Getting beat like that is never fun," said losing manager Royce Dale.
