Warriors Win in Glorious Fashion
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Winfield Warriors and the Kingwood Knights, Kevin Davis was the difference-maker. The Winfield right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Winfield reliever Norberto Bianchi picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Dave Coffin took the loss. Winfield now sits in third place in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division at 86-70.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Claudio Ramírez had a chance to end it. Kingwood pitcher Dave Coffin had other ideas. But with one out, Ramírez hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Warriors had the win.
"This place was jumping at the end," Ramírez said.
