Knights Come Back Late, Nip Warriors
Kingwood and Winfield took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

Despite a fine performance by third baseman Jim Bungay, the Winfield Warriors suffered a 5-4 loss to the Kingwood Knights. Bungay went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Javier González earned his 29th save in 38 chances.

Jim Unknown found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the eighth. Facing Winfield hurler Norberto Bianchi, the 21-year-old pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly. His 1st RBI of the season put the Knights on top, 5-4.

In comments to the Kingwood News, Unknown admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."

The Knights sit in 5th place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division with a record of 64-90.
