Jedi Knights Win at Chippewa, 7-5

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Chippewa third baseman Marcos Tovar had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to New Orleans at The Reservation. Tovar went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Romain Quere got the win, improving to 4-6. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Yoshikazu Ichihara finished the game for New Orleans and earned his 22nd save.
Also making an impact was first baseman Shinji Kakuta, who drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning for the Jedi Knights. For the game, Kakuta was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Kakuta.
New Orleans's record now stands at 80-72, placing them 4th in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division.
