Saints Win Thriller, 4-3
The St. Paul Saints topped the Charleston Panthers, 4-3, with pinch hitter Juichi Takahashi playing a big role. Takahashi was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Saints in the win. St. Paul reliever Mickael Raymond picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Steve Becker absorbed the loss. The 4th-place Saints have won 5 straight.

St. Paul pinch hitter Daniel Da Silva said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. He did more than that -- Da Silva hit a solo home run to stake St. Paul to a 4-3 lead. His 11th home run of the season came off Charleston pitcher Steve Becker.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Da Silva said in his postgame press conference.
