River Chiefs Stay Hot, Beat Cyclones
|
Chippewa starter Felipe Arreola put a stranglehold on the Coney Island offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the River Chiefs to a 4-1 win. Arreola, now 10-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. The last-place Cyclones have lost 5 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the second, Mario Torres hit a 2-run single for Chippewa. The 65th hit of the season for the Chippewa second baseman put the River Chiefs on top, 2-0.
