The Baltimore Blue Claws wasted an inspired, 6.1-inning effort from starter Paolo Jens, falling 2-1 to the San Angelo Mustangs at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The win was credited to Carlos Riscado in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Marquise Sidotti took the loss. Picking up the save was Jim Unknown, his 1st.

The game was far from mistake-free. In the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Claws committed a costly error on a base hit by Eiichi Kobayashi. San Angelo scored 1 on the play to take the lead, 2-1.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Baltimore manager David Parker, "let me know."

The win puts the Mustangs at 83-63, while the Blue Claws drop to 91-55.
