The first-place Eugene Emeralds took on the Chippewa River Chiefs at Prefontaine Park.

The Eugene Emeralds grabbed a 6-5 win over the Chippewa River Chiefs at Prefontaine Park. Eugene designated hitter José Padilla was 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Eugene reliever Juan Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Pablo Martínez took the loss. James Woodard got the save, his 31st in 37 chances.

Late in the game, catcher Jason French had a big at-bat for Eugene. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Pablo Martínez. The play gave the Emeralds a 6-5 lead.
