The Chippewa River Chiefs and Kingwood Knights completed their game despite the rain.
The Chippewa River Chiefs used an offensive barrage to beat the Kingwood Knights, 10-2, at Stable Park. Ludovic Tournier led the way, going 2-for-2 for Chippewa. Kichibei Endo picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-7. He struck out 7 in 5 innings. Picking up the save was Juan Lara, his 1st.
One important at-bat for Chippewa came with two out in the top of the first inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Tournier hit a 3-run home run, which contributed to the River Chiefs win.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Kingwood manager Johan Gillberry. "We got flat-out beat."
The River Chiefs now own a record of 86-53.
