Gómez Excels in Barrow Win
|
With third baseman Nick Gómez leading the charge, the Barrow Frosties defeated the St. Paul Saints, 8-4, at Saints Ballpark. Gómez, who leads the BOL in RBI with 96, was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Ikku Nakayama earned the win to go to 3-0. He allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Frosties now have a record of 79-62 with the win over St. Paul.
Barrow catcher Juan Archuleta made his contribution to the Frosties cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning. For the day, Archuleta went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
