Manas Delivers Walk-Off Win for Spartans
The Sandy Springs Spartans defeated the Boise Hawks, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Atamas Manas, who was 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sandy Springs reliever Larry Greer was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Duane Lummis. With the win, the Spartans improved to 77-83.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Sandy Springs trailing 4-3, Manas hit a fastball from Duane Lummis for a 3-run home run, giving the Spartans the walk-off win.
