Weld, Ducks Clobber Hawks

The Long Island Ducks used an offensive barrage to beat the Boise Hawks, 10-2, at Basque Block Field. Sam Weld led the way, going 2-for-3 for Long Island. Tom Trewick, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. Long Island is now 78-81.
Weld was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 against the Hawks. With the game tied in the top of the second inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Long Island in front, 1-0.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Boise manager Bill Martin. "We got flat-out beat."
