The Boise Hawks beat the Long Island Ducks, 7-4, at Basque Block Field. Boise designated hitter Kiemon Matsunaga earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Boise reliever Akio Chikuda picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Ronald Stevens shouldered the loss. The Hawks now have a record of 61-96 with the win over Long Island.

Had Kadambi Patterjee not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Patterjee hit a 2-run double. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Hawks.
