Snaps Finish Off Storm Troopers in 12
|
San Antonio catcher Floyd Collins had a terrific game. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cincinnati beat the Storm Troopers, 7-5. Collins was named the player of the game despite the loss. Cincinnati reliever Shafeeq bin Nooh picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-6. Naonobu Miyata was collared with the loss. The win puts the Snaps at 68-87, while the Storm Troopers drop to 88-67.
Cincinnati shortstop Yoichibei Kawakami had a game-changing at-bat in the bottom of the 12th. On a slider from Naonobu Miyata, he launched a 2-run home run. It gave Cincinnati a 7-5 lead.
Kawakami said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
