Hawks Fall Short, 8-7, at Carson City
|
Nate Kemp added some punch to the Carson City offense, helping them outmuscle the Boise Hawks, 8-7. In the game, Kemp, who is tied for 10th in the FFL in doubles with 27, was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Carson City reliever Yuki Kokawa was the winner. His record is now 6-4. Ettore Lagorio took the loss. With the win, the Mustang improved to 83-72.
One consequential at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Matsudaira Shimada, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 7-6, Carson City, and helped them go on to win.
Kemp told the Carson City Chronicle: "I think I thrive on conflict. It brings out my best."
