New York right-hander Kevin Everhart was sensational in shutting out the Wichita Wolverines, 5-0. Everhart went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 16-7. The New York winning streak has now reached 4 games.

Also pitching for New York was left fielder Kojuro Yamaguchi, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Yamaguchi went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
