Sandy Springs pitcher Kagetoki Ohayashi did his part in helping his team beat the Long Island Ducks, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ohayashi got the win, improving to 3-11. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. Ohayashi allowed 1 earned run. The Spartans sit in 6th place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division with a record of 75-81.
Mário Arnada made an early impact for Sandy Springs when he stroked his 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which came with no one out in the top of the third, put the Spartans on top, 3-1.
