Rats Take Close Win Over Storm Troopers
|
The Rock River Rats defeated the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 7-3, in Ford Frick League action at The Clone Army, with Rock River pitcher Douglas Pantall named player of the game. Ramelan Kathirithamby got credit for the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. Rock River leads the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division by 9 games.
Neither team could produce runs. So, Orlando Barajas's at-bat in the top of the eighth was critical. With one out, the Rock River left fielder hit a 2-run double, to give his team a 4-2 lead.
"We're feeling pretty good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Barajas told the Rock River Bulletin.
