Storm Troopers Dump Predators, 5-2
|
San Antonio Storm Troopers starter Noritoshi Hayashi turned in a top-notch performance against the Topeka Predators at The Field at Richmond. The result was a win for the Storm Troopers, 5-2. Hayashi, the winner, moves to 8-9. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. Armando Medina got the save, his 32nd in 34 chances.
In the top of the sixth, with San Antonio leading 2-0, designated hitter Kol-in-sen Pai hit a bases-clearing double. The hit came off Yodo Takaki and put the Storm Troopers ahead, 5-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Hayashi said.
The first-place Storm Troopers, at 84-64, now lead their division by 6 games.
