Late Magic Gets Long Island 10-8 Win
Getting a good performance from left fielder Enrique Rivera, the Long Island Ducks defeated the Carson City Mustang, 10-8. Rivera was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Ducks. Reliever Héctor Pérez picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Julien Caron took the loss. The Ducks improve their record to 74-76 with the win over Carson City.

The Ducks got a clutch hit from Pedro Pinto with two out in the top of the ninth inning. Pinto jumped on a 2-1 fastball from Yuki Kokawa and hit a 2-run single, staking his club to a 10-8 lead.

"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Rivera told the Long Island Gazette.
