|
The New York Ninjas got a stellar effort from pitcher Koichi Takahashi, helping New York score a 4-1 win over the visiting Madison Beehive. Takahashi went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 9-5. Nobuatsu Fukumoto was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 36 of 41 save opportunities.
Jason Brown contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat that propelled New York to the win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Brown said.
New York currently is in third place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division at 78-70.
