Madison shortstop Louie Culley had a good game, even if his team did not. The Beehive dropped a 8-4 decision to Carson City at The Hive. Culley went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. At 77-69, the Mustang are currently second in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.

Parking one for Carson City was Tony Durango. The right fielder had a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth for the Mustang. It put his team ahead, 5-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Durango was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Durango told the Carson City Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
