Storm Troopers Subdue Boise, 4-2
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a strong performance from pitcher Abdul-Rahim Barakah, who stymied the Boise offense en route to a 4-2 win at Basque Block Field. Barakah, now 11-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Armando Medina nailed down his 31st save.
Jon Massey had a big at-bat in the top of the third inning for the Storm Troopers. With his team down, 1-0, the first baseman hit a 2-run double, to put San Antonio ahead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Massey.
San Antonio improves to 83-62 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.
