Lights Take Down Rats, 9-6
|
Phoenix designated hitter Qu-bing Ci had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 9-6 win over the Rock River Rats. Jian-cheng Wang converted his 11th save in 15 tries. The Lights sit in second place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division with a record of 90-56.
Robbie Colwill was a key contributor to the win for the Lights. In the bottom of the fourth with one out, the light-hitting left fielder stroked a single to center. He went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Ci said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
