Ninjas Come Up Short at Rock River
The Rock River Rats scored a 7-6 win versus the New York Ninjas at The Rat Hole. Rock River catcher Harley Ware nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Rock River reliever Si-dao Chen was the winner. His record is now 9-2. The losing pitcher was Kevin Everhart. Tsuyoshi Tadokoro converted his 37th save in 43 tries.

One of the key players for the Rats was shortstop Kiyoemon Kawano, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the game, Kawano went 3 for 4 with 3 singles.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Rock River manager John Smiley.

Rock River has an impressive 98-46 record.
