The Madison Beehive did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Hive. Nobody did more than catcher José Jiménez, who captured player of the game honors. Dongdo-pa Chen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-3. Lyndon Ernst was tagged with the loss. At 63-76, the Beehive find themselves in 5th place in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.
With runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, Jim Cantwell delivered the knockout blow when he hit a 2-run double to win it for Madison. In the contest, Cantwell went 1-1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"This place was rocking at the end," Jiménez said.
